WFATO · WINE FROM ALPHA TO OMEGA

A wine knowledge portal.
Not a shop.

For boutique wineries who make good wine and are hard to find.

Let us be honest first.
WFATO is in pilot. It is not yet open to the public and has no visitors. So we cannot promise you customers — that would not be true.

What we can offer is a place built from the start on things we have decided never to do. If you have been on a platform before, that list will matter to you more than any promise.

Six things we do not do

  1. We do not sell placement.
Paying more never moves anyone up a list. Our AI recommendations and editorial selections carry no paid slots, no sponsorship, no advertising. The screen itself says so: “Placement is not sold.”
  2. We do not sell wine.
An enquiry travels from the visitor straight to you. We take no commission and stand between no one. Payment on WFATO exists only for memberships, courses and experience bookings — never for wine.
  3. We do not look at what your customers paid.
If a member records what they paid for a bottle and where, that is visible to that member only — not to wineries, not to buyers, not to our own administrators. We build no averages, no price bands, no distributions from it. Such a number becomes a negotiating weapon the moment it moves.
  4. We do not rank or compare producers.
There is no “above regional average” screen, and there never will be. That kind of number makes small producers hide their data — and then the whole thing dies.
  5. We do not divide regions into major and minor.
Region lists sort by name and geography, never by popularity or registration count. No “emerging”, “undiscovered” or “new world darling” labels. Moldova, Nashik and Yeoju sit in the same row as Burgundy — not as a courtesy, but because climate is redrawing the map and the map should say so.
  6. We do not ask for exclusivity.
List anywhere else you like. Leave whenever you like, and take your records with you.

Paid features
Built, not charged

Verification checks that you exist and that you make wine. We do not ask for financial statements or sales figures. Profile, wine listing and enquiry alerts remain free permanently — paid features, when they arrive, attach only to things that help you earn more, never to being seen.

What we ask

About two hours. Create an account and choose “Winery / Producer”. Fill in the winery. Add two or three wines — leave any field blank if you are unsure, because we never invent what is missing. Request verification.

Then use it for a month and tell us what is wrong with it. That is the whole ask. No contract, no fee, no exclusivity, and you can withdraw everything at any time without giving a reason.

Why we are building it

Wine information is scattered, and scattered information favours big names. Search returns the same estates it always returned. A small producer making excellent wine is not passed over because the wine is worse — it is passed over because it cannot be found.

WFATO maps wines, grapes, regions, producers, processes and people as relationships rather than as a directory. On a map, connection makes the path — not size, and not budget.

We own nothing. No stock, no vineyards, no distribution, no shop. For someone who owns nothing there is only one way to earn trust: refuse the things you could have taken. That is what the six are, and why they are written into the design rather than into a marketing page.

We need one winery

Not fifteen. One — willing to walk the whole circle once, and say plainly what does not work. Until that happens, nothing else we claim is proven.

If it is not for you, saying so is also useful, and we will not write again.
